Building a workflow

A workflow is the rule that connects a lead source to one or more conversion destinations.

A workflow is the core of how Converly operates. It is a rule that says "when this event happens here, send this conversion there." This guide explains how to build one.

The parts of a workflow

Every workflow has three parts:

  1. A trigger — the lead capture tool and event that starts the workflow. For example, "someone books a Calendly meeting."
  2. A destination — the ad platform or analytics tool that receives the conversion. You can have more than one.
  3. Field mapping — the way you tell Converly which pieces of information go where.

Creating a workflow

  1. Open Workflows

    Click Workflows in the left sidebar, then click New workflow.

  2. Pick a trigger

    Choose the connection that should kick off the workflow. The list shows every lead capture tool you have connected.

  3. Choose destinations

    Add one or more ad platforms or analytics tools. Each destination has its own field mapping step.

  4. Map your fields

    For each destination, tell Converly which trigger fields map to which destination fields. Email and click ID are the most important.

  5. Test and activate

    Use Send test event to confirm everything is wired up. Once you are happy, switch the workflow from Draft to Active.

Common patterns

Send one event to multiple ad platforms

A Calendly booking can fire conversions to Google Ads, Meta, and LinkedIn at the same time. Just add all three as destinations in a single workflow.

Different events for different stages

If you have separate Calendly event types for "Discovery call" and "Closed deal", build two workflows. One fires a lead conversion when the discovery call is booked, the other fires a purchase conversion when the deal closes.

Test before you go live

Always send a test event before turning a workflow on. Misconfigured field mappings can inflate or deflate your reported conversions, which affects your ad bidding.
